80th Anniversary of first Indian movie with sound Aalam Ara

Yes, Today is first anniversary of Aalam Ara (आलमआरा) The first Indian movie with sound, Aalam Ara was released in 1931 directed by Ardeshir Irani.

The movie and its music was successful, including the first hit song of the Bollywood De de khuda ke naam per. It was the beginning of the filmi music in India.

The film was a Love Story between a prince and a gypsy girl, this film have the following soundtracks.

  • Badla Dilbayega Ya Rabb tu Sitamgaron se
  • Bhar bhar ke jam pila ja sagar ke chalane bala
  • Daras bina mare hai tarse naina pyare
  • De de khuda ke naam pe pyaare
  • De dil ko aaram aye saki gulfam
  • Rutha Hai Asman gum ho gaya mahatab
  • Teri Katili nigahon ne mara
