Savannah is a perfect city to fall in love with; there are so many highlights that keep you engaging. In 1733 the city was established on the banks of River Savannah and lies in the U.S. State of Georgia. The Forsyth Park

A park that benefits everyone in some or other way is the appropriate choice to start your day with. At your weekend visit Forsyth Park with your family or friends. The park was established in 1840 and spread over an area of 30 acres, which contains a tennis court, fountains, children play area, walking path, aromatic garden for blind people and many other areas.

It is one of the largest parks of the state and its center of attraction is the iron-fountain. The park went through several restorations but the design and the formation of the iron fountain were kept intact.

Bull Street

Bull Street is the district present in Savannah and it is a good place to walk around. In its every direction you shall see some public buildings or shopping complexes. For example, in the south direction of the street, you may find the Christ Episcopal Church which is also near Johnson Square.

Even in the opposite direction of the street, you may see the City Hall. In every direction of Bull Street, you may find some historic buildings that have some historical significance with respect to the city.

Tybee Island Beach

After getting some knowledge of the city your next stop must be Tybee Island Beach. Well, there are six beaches that are close to the city however, Tybee Island Beach is one of the most famous and the nearest beach to the city. You are just 20 minutes drive away from the city to the beach.

It is one large stretch all over the Georgia coast that portrays endless water with the merge of gentle waves and soft sand. Here in this Tybee Island Beach, one can also explore the famous light station and the historic museum. Simple and easy water sports are also conducted on the beach for tourists.

The National Museum of The Mighty Eighth Air Force

Historical knowledge about the country is very necessary nowadays; the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force is the correct place where you will get answers to your history questions. This museum is solely dedicated to the wing or organisation named Eight Air Force and this wing was functional in the year 1942. During this period the incidences of World War II took place, you can see and experiences all the stories, character, some brave and unforgettable stories from that era.

The museum is divided into several levels which tell different stories and lots of information is also displayed here for better understanding. Museum has a deep collection of things used in World War II and all these are now displayed here with their stories.

Cathedral of St. John The Baptist

Take a look at this beautiful building the cathedral of St. John the Baptist, it is the only structure in Savannah that was reconstructed several times.  It was first constructed in 1870 and then rebuilt in 1899, 1950, 1960, 1980 and finally in 1990. Therefore, it took more than a decade to get into its final form. The main attraction of this cathedral is the tall sky-touching pipe-shaped structure with amazing glasswork on it.

Even from inside the design and architecture is impressive, the use of blue colour with the mix of white in the interior enhances the beauty of the cathedral. Tours are also conducted with a proper guide who tells you the entire history of the cathedral.

Bonaventure Cemetery

The Bonaventure Cemetery is one of the world’s most famous and beautiful cemeteries. In this cemetery, you will notice the layout, design and the entire work is developed in a Victorian style and heavy work of stone is used while making the monuments. The Bonaventure cemetery covers an area of more than 100 acres, and 14 acres are of the historic district.

Some famous personalities are also buried here like Rosa Louise Woodbury and Johnny Mercer. In the year 1997, a movie named “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” showcased the Bonaventure cemetery which made it even more famous worldwide.

Savannah is a city full of cultural and historical importance. It is a perfect city to plan your weekend or a full-fledge vacation tour.
