Quebrada de Humahuaca is yet another marvel from the extreme north of Argentina. It is a tiny city from Jujuy which was declared on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 2003. With more than 11000 people residing in the place it makes it one of the best offbeat tourism places in Argentina.

The Quebrada de Humahuaca Valley is World UNESCO Heritage Site. And the reasons contributing to the title are several. Firstly, the valley has been a part of the survival for ages, precisely saying 10000 years. It was a crucial way for the trading voyage as well as the commutation of the people. The pace has the perfect setting of endangered settlement too. Numerous pre-historic settlements in the valley reflect the associated system.

Several laws are applicable to protect and ensure the protection of the endangered site. The provisional law for the land and other specific property and regulated the development of the land. Also, municipal law is implemented to protect certain property and the landscapes of the heritage site. The Quebrada de Humahuaca valley comes under the national constitution of 1994. Which provides cultural protection to the world heritage site.  There are two villages Purmamarca and Humahuaca that are on the list of best historical places within the Quebrada de Humahuaca Valley. The National decree established in the year 1941 protects the churches, cathedrals, chapels and other religious architectural eminence of the place. This UNESCO world heritage site also preserves the folklore and craftsmanship of the place. The inscription on the rocks of Quebrada is preserved with great care.

You can reach Argentina by Flight from another part of the world. And for the local people, it is quite easy to commute to the Quebrada. Tourist comes here from Humahuaca which is about 25 Kilometers. It will be a better idea to rent a car to tour the place for a hustle-free experience.  Also, bus services are running through the city. That will help you to go through the city particularly to the archaeological sites of the Quebrada. When you reach the site, it is better to walk around and enjoy the best of the UNESCO World Heritage Site sites.
