There are many huge textile markets and streets as well, but you can check a few of them, like
- Ring Road Textile Market is well-known for wholesale fashion shopping, sarees, and garment materials.
- One of the oldest local marketplaces, Chauta Bazaar, offers everything from accessories and traditional goods to street fashion.
- Zampa Bazaar is well-known for its local shopping atmosphere, dry fruits, and fragrances.
How to Split These Attractions Across 3 Days
Here is the plan that worked for me, keeping the railway station area as the base.
Day 1, the old city: Start at Surat Castle in the morning when it is quietest, walk the Chauta Bazaar lanes for lunch and shopping, cover Gopi Talav in the late afternoon and end with the evening lights at the Tapi Riverfront.
Day 2, family day: Jagdishchandra Bose Aquarium first thing, the Science Centre after lunch, then drive out to Dumas Beach for sunset and street food at the stalls there.
Day 3, temples and the coast: Morning darshan at Shri Ambika Niketan and Bada Ganesh, then the 34 km drive to Galteshwar Mahadev beside the Tapi, and if you still have the energy, Suvali Beach on the way back for one last quiet sunset. Keep the Ring Road textile market for any leftover time before your train or flight, it stays open late.
