The place has some very old and extraordinary architecture that composes of churches, monasteries, cathedrals and bell towers. And the entire place is surrounded by a fortress. Minibusses are available to travel from Yerevan to Haghpat promptly which covers a distance of almost 160 kilometers. Also while traveling by bus tourists should be aware that there is no direct route to the two cities and hence there will be a break in between to Kilikia to pick up the next bus to Haghpat.
However, the other option is that tourist can also hire a cab to go around a hustle free trip and explore the place on your own phase. Renting a car would ensure time management and more quality time exploring the city. when you hire a cab you can also visit the nearby places like Lori Fortress and Akhtala on the way.

First thing first there is no such thing as an entry fee to explore the Monasteries of Haghpat and Sanahin. If you’re willing to donate some amount you are most welcome. Also, there is a wheelchair facility for those who need it; however, some places would have restrictions for the same.
Also, one fact that you need to keep in mind is that there is no E-money facility in that area, hence you need to keep cash purchase anything or visit any eateries.
