I love Palace and hence I make sure that I travel to destinations that have at least one palace to its credit. Well, that is not only me! Most of us love to explore majestic palaces and gardens surrounding it. What makes palaces unique from other giant monuments or buildings? Palaces are built with extreme preciseness. The topmost artists, designers, architects and thousands of hard-working labor are hired to erect this massive structure. Also, Palaces are historically significant with hundreds of stories to impart.
So, without saying our next topic is a world-famous palace surrounded by mesmerizing gardens- The Palace and Gardens of Schönbrunn.

The Palace and Gardens of Schönbrunn are located in Vienna, Austria. This magnificent palace was built as a summer residence to the then rulers of the place. It was opened in 1700. With baroque architectural style, this palace stands tall as an important landmark of the place. Tourists love the art and paintings exhibited inside the Palace. It is a well-known fact that Habsburg emperors used this place as their residence. The palace has 1441 rooms in total of which 45 are exclusively opened for tourism.

The Palace is designed by every well-known architect Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach. The interior of the palace is decorated with classic art and artifacts. To add beauty to the place, the palace garden plays an important role. The garden once was a Zoo, princely speaking the year is 1700.

The Palace and Gardens of Schönbrunn is an extraordinary baroque architecture. To stray back to the history of the Palace, it was found that this palace was once a small hunting lodge that was later converted into a summer residence. The Habsburg emperors who ruled the place owned the palace. It was in the year 1683 the entire palace was renovated. At that time the Turkish influence embarked on the palace architectural style. And hence during the 18th century, it is said that the Palace become the signature piece of the project of the place.

And when it comes to the garden, it was built in order to make the palace look magnificent. The garden looks exactly complementary to the beautiful palace. There is the different section to the garden, such as the orangery is on the side of the entrance while the Palm House stands tall in the other side. The garden is erected or built using the new technology developed by non-other than England.

Protection and Management of the Palace

We know that palace needs a day to day management. The Federal officials of protection are expertise in preserving and managing the place. Also, the property is also protected under the provisional level. The garden and the property nearby also come under the protection zone. However, the nearby zone and the buffer zone are taken care of by the City of Vienna. This means the buildings and the tall monuments are looked after by the Vienna government. Being a World Heritage Site, the palace and the garden are the responsibility of the national and international alike!

Best time to visit the Palace

The palace is opened seven days a week and functions year-round. Tourists are allowed to visit the place from 8 in the morning. However, the garden park is opened in the early morning for people to walk around and enjoy the morning breeze.
To get into the palace you need to book tickets prior to the visit. What does this entire means? It means that there is no particular time to visit the palace.
As per climate and weather, it is recommended to visit the place during mid-March or in November. Don’t miss the beautiful garden of the palace and the Orangery Garden and the curious Maze garden of the Palace. This palace has no wonder become one of the crucial landmarks of Vienna.

Tourist reaches Vienna by flight from other parts of the globe. Cab or buses are available right outside the airport for the tourist. A cab would be an easy a hustle-free option for tourist who wants to utilize every minute of their tour. Some tourists also take the train to reach their destination. However, when you reach the Palace and Gardens of Schönbrunn you will have o walk and explore the entire premise. Walk every step of your tour and take home memories for a lifetime.
