Saleaula Lava Fields is one of the most famous attractions situated on the north coast of the Savaii. Molten lava from Mt Matavanu’s eruption between 1905 and 1911 created these lava fields. The lava has set inside this destroyed church and there is an imprint of a collapsed roof where it was sealed to the earth. It’s a geological wonder. Keep an eye out for the Virgin’s Grave, as well as the ruins of a concrete church and striking lava rocks.
