The Angkor Wat was built in the 12th century for worshipping Hindu gods. That later becomes a Buddhist temple. This complex is situated in the Siem Reap region of Cambodia.
The structure was initially the idea of the then king Suryavarman. And it is said that it took almost 30 years to construct the complex.

The sudden climate change and unknown reasons destroyed some part of the complex and people abandon it in the 15th century. In 1992, recognizing the need to save this rare and important structure, the complex was listed as the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Since then the place has gained rampant prosperity and protection has been taken. And it was always kept in mind that this structure is a hard effort of thousands of human labor for years. Ta Prohm is one of the most popular temples of Angkor. The reason is the trees that are outgrown from within the walls of the temple give it an aesthetic look. The entire premises look photogenic and people love to explore the area more than any other structure of Angkor. Ta Prohm alone was listed as the UNESCO Heritage Site in 1992 due to its uniqueness. The protection and management of this particular site are done by the Archeological Survey of India. Hence it is clear how important a structure Ta Prohm is true!

Phnom Bakheng

Phong Bakheng was built even before the construction of Angkor began. Now exclusively a part of Angkor, this place holds a prominent place in Cambodian tourism. This temple was built on a hilltop dedicated to Hindu God Shiva. However, now it has become the most visited site and that brings in more threats to the structure. Hence the temple has been conserved very diligently.
Tourists love to climb the hilltop and enjoy the sunrise and sunset.

Baphuon Temple
