Italy is a dream place for many tourists. There is everything for everyone in this city that is built upon hopes and dreams. A month-long trip won’t be enough to explore entire Italy and its vicinity, however, India Imagine picks up some best places for you to get a glimpse of the history, culture and tradition of the place. Even before looking into the places to explore in Italy, I would love to dig into Sistine Chapel in Vatican City.

It was a few years back I fell in love with Vatican city, while watching a famous book turned Hollywood flick! The reason was simply the astounding architectural sanctum, sculptures and paintings that are predominantly done by a well-known person’s century across.
One major attraction in Vatican City, needless to say, is the Sistine Chapel, the chapels of the Apostolic Palace where the pope’s official residence is located.
This epitome of pride and religious sanctum Sistine Chapel was first built in papal chapel in 1473–81 by the architect Giovanni Dei Dolci for Pope Sixtus IV. If you are wondering about the beautiful paintings on the wall and ceiling of the Chapel well, It is famous for its Renaissance Frescoes by Michelangelo. Around the Chapel are some famous towers and church that brings religious significance along with them. So, list it as a must-visit place while packing a trip to Italy.

The Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, the Vatican Museum, the Borghese Museum and the Sistine Chapel, inside the Vatican City that we discussed earlier, are some places in Rome that shouldn’t be missed. You need at least 4 days to explore the nook and corner of the place.

Venice, Italy

Venice is a picturesque perfect place and loved by people across the world. The colourful town of Murano and Burano, the canals with boats adds romance in every corner of the place. Therefore Venice is favourite among the tourists and honeymooners alike.

The buildings in Venice are century-old with prominent historical significance. The tourists often wander along the canals, take a gondola ride through the city, see St. Mark’s Square and explore Saint Mark’s Basilica while exploring.

Verona, Italy

Verona is a small city in Italy that would need not more than two days to explore. The main tourist attractions and places to explore are likely to be Ponte Scaligero, Piazza Delle Erbe, Basilica di San Zeno Maggiore.

Cinque Terre, Italy

Now we are talking about fun and outdoor adventures. Cinque Terre has five beautifully coloured towns that stoop on the hilltops making it major tourist attraction. People come here to hike or for a train ride to explore the five towns Riomaggiore, Vernazza, Monterosso al Mare, Manarola, and Corniglia.

Florence, Italy

Florence is also known as the art capital of the world, thanks to giant towers, historical museums, enchanting galleries, precious paintings and one man called Michelangelo!!!

If you are in a hurry, one stand tour is enough to visit places like Michelangelo’s David, visit Uffizi Gallery and museum across. But a two days tour is well enough for you to take a stroll across Ponte Vecchio, eat lots of gelatos, and watch the sunset over Florence from Piazzale Michelangelo.

We have covered some beautiful and breath-taking places, but if you are ready to stay longer and have no restrictions on the pocket, then there are few more spots you can hop across. For example, if you are travelling between cities like Florence and Clique Terre, then you should probably stay to visit places like Milan, which has the world’s most loved museum, Duomo and Da Vinci’s Last Supper to its credit. Also its worth a quick halt to visit one of the world’s wonder for many years, Leaning Tower of Pisa.
