There is something surreal in visiting the Buddhist influence countries. Bhutan is one of those countries known for its fantastic landscapes, mountains, valley and monasteries. Bhutan is a small country situated at the peak of the Himalayas range. The outdoor activities like sightseeing, trekking and meditation and the monasteries are favorite among the tourist. Also, Bhutan is considered the cheapest tourist destination, and hence making it the most visited place!

A sacred Buddhist site popular around the world for where it is situated. The view of the site sitting at the top of the peak gives you the world feel. The site is one among the thirteen tiger nest caves where the great Padmasambhava and his students used to meditate. Padmasambhava is known for Vajrayana, a practice of Buddhism founded by him. The place is considered the cultural icon of Bhutan and also is considered the cheapest tourist destination.

Punakha Dzong

The majestic Dzong was built in the year 1638 and since then it has been a prime architectural eminence well as a tourist attraction form worldwide.it is situated in the Punakha district. This site is the second-largest and the foremost oldest structure built in Bhutan. The architecture style of this beautiful building is Dzong architecture. It is a 6-floor construction that is served as a monastery to date.

Gangtey Monastery

Well, Gangtey Monastery is yet another tourist spot that is most visited in Bhutan. The founder of the monastery is Gyalse Pema Thinley. It is one of the main schools of Buddhism that practice Nyingmapa. The site is located in the Wangdue district of Bhutan. Some religious festivals like Tshechu and Crane Festivals in Gangtey Monastery. People also love to trek at this place.

Phobjikha Valley

The Phobjikha Valley is a U-shaped valley breathtakingly beautiful for its glacial appearance. It houses some wonderful travel spots that attract tourists alarmingly. The famous Gangteng Monastery is located in this valley. The landscapes, greenery and marshland look absolutely stunning. There is little wildlife thriving in the valley too. All his makes the valley grab a place in our list today!

The National Museum of Bhutan is situated in the eastern part of the country. This Museum was built in the year 1968. It is the cultural hub of Bhutan and represents the culture of the country. There are more than 3000 art and artifacts exhibited present at present. Visitors are allowed from 10 to 5 in the daytime with a basic entry fee. The Museum is under the protection of the politics of Bhutan.

Drukgyel Dzong

People say Drukgyel Dzong was once a fortress and a monastery that is now a ruin. Yet the place is a major tourist attraction and a historically significant place and the cheapest tourist destination in the Paro District. This fortress was built to celebrate the victory over the invasion of the neighboring country. Tourists can visit the place till 6 in the evening.

Kyichu Lhakhang

The Kyichu temple is located in Lango Gewog of the Paro district. It is a Himalayan Buddhist temple and one of its kind! This marvel built in the 7th century maintains extraordinary beauty intact. Book your slot prior to your visit for a hurdle-free visit. Tourists can explore the place till 4 in the evening. If you are in Bhutan, the Kyichu Lhakhang is a must-visit cheapest tourist destination for sure.

Mo Chhu

The Mo Chhu is the main river that flows in Bhutan and ends or merges into the Brahmaputra. The word Chuu means water in the river in Bhutan. Apart from the scenic beauty of the river flowing through the valley, the place is also for outdoor adventurous activities. People love kayaking and Winding River for adrenaline speck and love to explore the adventure. This river has many names as it passes through different terrains and places.

Dochula Pass

The Dochu La is a scenic view with snow-covered Himalayan snow. The place lies in between the roads of Thimphu to the road Punakha. The memorial of stupas is a well-known Druk Wangyal Chortens. The stupas are 108 in numbers. it stands at the height of 3100m in the Himalayan Range.

During the summer the roads are clear and tourists enjoy a hurdle-free trip. However, during winters the place looks more beautiful and scenic than in the summer days. So, drop all your winter plans and just go to this Himalayan destination in Bhutan to enjoy the surreal experience.
