A Patiala king was fascinated with the daughter of the viceroy of India, according to a common myth, and kidnapped her while she was taking a walk in this location. Thus this point is known as Scandal Point. Also, this point is the mall’s tallest location.

Watch Grand Viceregal Lodge & Botanical Gardens

In 1888, this magnificent building was designed as the residence of Lord Dufferin, the British Viceroy. It is situated at the Hills Observatory and is surrounded by beautiful pine trees and rose plants, well-maintained gardens and lawns. The Viceregal Lodge is now turned into the Indian Institute of Advanced Study and students attend the higher education.

The lodge is also known as “Rashtrapati Niwas” The building has an architectural theme of the British Revival, which is grey in limestone colour. The views are exciting from this location and cannot be explained in words, as it is situated at a good altitude.

Pay a Religious Visit to Jakhu Temple

The well-known Jakhoo Temple nestled at the top at Jakhu Hill above the valley. It has become a popular religious attraction in the surrounding regions. This temple is dedicated to Lord Hanumana offers a spiritual vibe to travellers and it is an ancient site covered in mythological stories. From that temple, you can have a terrific view of the whole Shimla due to majestic Deodar and the spectacular environment.
